Fellow Britons, Dan Evans (ATP:44) and Kyle Edmund (ATP:45) will clash for the second time in their careers on the clay courts of Monte Carlo at around 12:30 UK time.
Their previous clash, at the Dallas Challenger last year on a hard court, resulted in a fairly straight forward 6-3 6-2 victory for Edmund.
Edmund is a clear 1.18 favourite for this all British affair, which I think is very short in price, especially considering he’s lost 4 matches in row, only winning one set in the process. On the other hand, Evans has only played two matches on clay at tour level, and they were both back in 2014, both of which he lost.
It would be a surprise to see Evans win this match since he clearly isn’t a fan of playing on the red dirt. However, he may be able to challenge Edmund for parts of this match.
Anyway, this should be an exciting watch for all British tennis fans. Sit back and enjoy what should be a competitive all-British match on this Easter Monday holiday.
